Report #2 Rigo has been released and is at home!

Amazing, Amazing it was just seven days ago that Rigo's medical condition came to the attention of Rich Williams, which he shared that with several of us. We felt that this was something that the Owners would strongly support, so we published the request to you. In recapping, your generosity, in just a week, has exceeded $5,650.00. All current medical expenses have been paid, in the amount of $3,650.00 leaving some $2,00.00 in Rigo's medical reserve fund.

The Amazing part is that just seven days ago Rigo was a dying man, and this morning he left the hospital, after having had his infected leg removed. He had color back in his cheeks, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his moist eyes. Rich and Elias had the funds to pay all the bills. They met with Rigo's two Daughters and his Son when they came to take Rigo home. Rigo and his family were  overwhelmed with your generosity and kind words, which they expressed to Rich and Elias over and over again this morning.

Rigo is alive and already mending. On the operation his leg was removed about 6" below his knee, thus making it easy to accommodate a suitable prosthesis, when healing will allow.

Your generosity allowed this miracle occur, and we along with Rigo’s family thank you.

Report#1 on Rigo Surgery 1/12/2022

Rigo was operated on this morning at 9:05, Wednesday the 12th. His leg was amputated just below the knee. This has been fast and furious as it was only (6) days ago that we started working to help him. His health was the major consideration, as his foot had turned black and his general well being was rapidly deteriorating. We got him into the Hospital on Monday where they could establish him and start with antibiotics. The surgeon was very straight forth that amputation would be necessary. This was most disturbing to Rigo and his family, as they had assumed that medicine could cure the problem. But this was not the case as the diabetic deterioration had progressed too far.

We were very lucky to have been at the right spot at the right time. WOW our immediate action has probably saved Rigo's life. What a thrill is has been to see the immediate reaction of you Owens in contributing to assist Rigo. We have committed approximately $3,000.00 to cover Hospital cost so far, and still have $2,000.00 in the bank to assist Rigo as he climbs the hill of health to normality.

Our Shirnp Guys Rigo and Gilberto have daily been bringing us Shrinp for the last 30 years. His son has been there most days, when the tile is low enough to allow, and from him we learned of Rigo's serious health situation surrounding his absent. Most you you know that Gilberto passed away in May of 2020 with a heart attack and Rigo lost his wife to Covid, this last year. But Rigo has continued to to offer fresh shrimp on a daily basis to we visitors at the Inn.

Nothing taste better that the Shrimp that we enjoy from our "Shrimp Guys" while at The Inn!

Rigobeno Garcia Torres has diabetes an appears to be in a very serious position. He is in waiting for a hospital visitation within Mexico Social Hospital System, which is now scheduled for April/May. However with his diabetes situation has turned serious, his foot having turned black, This is an early indication of the beginning of the diabetic amputation process. The Mexican Social hospital scedule is predicated on Rico still be with us in three to four months.

Several of we Owners have discuss this and have scheduled a Doctor's appointment for Rico this coming Monday 1:00pm at the Clinica San Martine Hospital. We felt that getting Rico to a Private Hospital is the least we could to for our ole friend.

Recognizing that in all probability we will looking at the amputation process and expecting medical bills from the Private System likely exceeding $5,000.00.
